Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the games and apps published by Doomhowl Interactive on Google Play, our web games (such as Blasteroids! for web and Chrome) and this website, doomhowl-interactive.com (together, the "Services"). By downloading, installing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Who we are

The Services are provided by Doomhowl Interactive, a sole developer based in Belgium. Our trader contact details are listed on our developer page on Google Play. You can reach us at the email address at the bottom of this page.

Free, ad-supported apps

Our apps are free to download and play. We do not sell in-app purchases or subscriptions. To fund development, our apps show advertisements served by third-party ad networks, mainly Google AdMob. You do not pay us anything to use the Services.

The ads are selected and delivered by the ad network, not by us. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for the products, services or websites they link to. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser. How the ad network processes data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Official download sources

Our mobile apps are only distributed through Google Play. Our web games are only offered on our own websites and, for Blasteroids!, the Chrome Web Store. We do not publish our apps on any other app store, website or APK download service, and we have not authorised anyone else to distribute them.

Copies obtained from any other source are unofficial. They may be outdated, modified or contain malware, and they are not covered by the licence in these Terms. We do not provide support for unofficial copies and are not responsible for any harm they cause. Please only install our apps from Google Play.

Licence to use the apps

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download our apps from an official source listed above, and to install and use them on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. This licence is subject to these Terms and to the Google Play Terms of Service.

You agree not to:

• copy, sell, rent, redistribute or publish the apps or their content (including uploading APK files or other copies to third-party websites or app stores), except as allowed by law;
• decompile, reverse engineer or modify the apps, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it;
• interfere with, block or manipulate the ads, or generate fake ad impressions or clicks (for example with bots, scripts or repeated deliberate clicking);
• use cheats, exploits or automation to gain an unfair advantage on leaderboards or in other shared features;
• use the Services in a way that breaks the law or harms us, other players or third parties.

Intellectual property

The apps, games, artwork, music, logos and other content are owned by Doomhowl Interactive or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Third-party software included in our apps is used under its own licence; see our Licenses page. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of this to you.

Your content

Some apps let you use your own material. For example, Vortex lets you pick a photo from your camera or gallery as a game background. That material stays yours and stays on your device; we do not upload or store it. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use the material you choose.

Third-party services

The Services rely on third-party services such as Google Play, Google Play Services, Google AdMob, Firebase and, in Vortex, the Pixabay API. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Availability and changes

We are a small independent studio. We work hard to keep our apps running well, but we cannot promise that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted or free of bugs. We may update, change or stop offering an app or a feature at any time. Updates may be needed to keep using an app.

Your legal rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under the consumer protection laws of your country, including the rights under EU law for digital content that does not conform to what was promised. These Terms do not limit or exclude any of those rights. If something in our apps does not work as it should, please contact us so we can fix it.

Disclaimer and liability

Except for the rights described above, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, Doomhowl Interactive is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of data, loss of game progress or loss of profits, arising from your use of the Services. We remain responsible for anything the law does not allow us to exclude, such as harm we cause on purpose or through serious carelessness.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the apps. We may suspend or end your access to the Services if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add new apps or features. The latest version will always be on this page. If a change is significant, we will try to let you know, for example in an app update.
